Mort Rainey is a successful author, experiencing some personal problems. He and his wife are going through a divorce and he has found that the impact has been quite considerable on his writing abilities. With a serious case of writer's block he soon finds that this is not his only problem. A psychotic stranger called John Shooter turns up accusing Mort of stealing his work and things soon spiral out of control as he realises that his life could be in danger...
